Most of us in HR work for organisations that sell successful, easily recognised, branded products and services.  We are proud of our product/service brands and even our corporate brands.

Nevertheless, when it comes to Employer Branding, there are probably as many views - and doubts - as there are HR people.

What is Employer Branding?  Who needs it? And why?  What can it do for employers?  What is HR's role in establishing a great Employer Brand?  

NHRDN Chennai's November monthly meeting aims to address some of these questions and raise a few more to provide an appreciation of this topic.

Mervyn Raphael is one of the founder members  of Performance Consulting International (PCI) in India.  In his a 27 year career, Mervyn worked with Hindustan Lever, AT&T and Mercer HR Consulting. In his stint with PCI, Mervyn established the Leadership & Talent, Employer Brand Management and Employee Engagement over the last several years. Mervyn has been trained in Employer Branding by the pioneers of the concept People in Business, London and in Employee Engagement by Curt Coffman, the author of‘First Break all the Rule’s.

Mervyn received his postgraduate degree from XLRI and an under-graduate degree in Statistics from the Loyola College in Madras.  Mervyn was also certified at the training center of AT&T in Dublin, Ohio. Mervyn has been a speaker at several forums across Asia, Europe and the United States of America.
