a-talk-on-can-i-have-it-all-experience-sharingThe National HRD Network (The Network) is an association of professionals committed to promoting the HRD movement in the country. It is a not-for-profit organization, begun in 1985, with the underlying philosophy that every human being has innate potential to do remarkable things.
The Network is registered under Registration of Societies Act 1860, and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, and is dedicated to develop human resources through education, training, research and experience sharing.
The Network is administered largely by practicing HR professionals from various industries, as well as academics from institutions of repute such as IIM Ahmedabad, XLRI Jamshedpur. It functions through its chapters all over the country. Currently, there are about 30 chapters, which together have almost 8000 members. The National Executive Board coordinates the overall efforts of the Network and the chapters conduct various events and initiatives at the local level.
The website of the Network is at www.nationalhrd.org
The Network also established the Academy of Human Resources Development, Ahmedabad (http://www.academyofhrd.org) as a Centre for Research, Education, Training, and Professional Services in the field of HRD. The academy has launched a doctoral level education programme in Human Resources Studies, jointly with XLRI, Jamshedpur and produced close to 25 Doctorates in HRD in a short span of time.
The Network has brought out several publications such as “The HRD Missionary”, by Prof. T.V.Rao and also publishes monthly newsletters for circulation to its members which is very popular with the HR community. With land provided by the Andhra Pradesh government, we are setting up a permanent campus at Hyderabad. The National Conference of the Network was last held at Chennai in 2008. The next National Conference is being hosted by the Bombay Chapter and is being held between November 25 and November 27, 2009.
